Super Late Sakura-con Report! [2012]
Yes, this is a very late post, and I apologize for that. Things have been a bit hectic, so please excuse the dust, smoke, and fires that’ve occured as a result. Also for some reason the videos I upload lose sound entirely, and I’m going to blame youtube for that.

In the meantime, have this picture.
Sakura-con itself was a blast! I’m really suprised that they were able to secure a deal with Aniplex last minute to get the guests they did. I got the chance to talk to some of the higher ranking staff about the deal off the cuff, and it was about as much of a surprise to them as it was to me. Glad it all worked out in the end. In addition there were far too many people asking Urobuchi Gen to sign Kyubey or Kyubey-related things. I can’t blame them though, since I was doing the same thing for a friend.

Said friend is super into Japanese TCGs, like Weiss Schwartz.
As usual our booth was lively, and plenty of our regulars who hit us up before and said hi. Also I want to put this out there: WE’RE SORRY FOR NOT HAVING VISUAL NOVELS ;_; This was a bit of an oversight on our part as we get adjusted in with the change of mangement. That, plus our reduced budget (This last year was a bit thin for us) equaled having to cut a few sections, and I felt the gaming/music/VN corner took the biggest hit. Next year it’ll be a lot better, we promise.
As for events I personally attended, due to work I wasn’t able to go to much. There was a Touhou Panel run by some friends of mine… That I missed. I was at the afterparty briefly though to drink, and that was great. I also managed to get to a signing. Sakura-con did a bit of an odd thing (that I can’t blame them for) in which in order to get priority lineup to the signings, you’d need to attend the panel to get a ticket to the signings. Since I was working most of the time, this was rather inconvenient for me. However, thanks to our customers being awesome, we managed to get to the signings we wanted. I kinda feel bad for everyone who didn’t get a ticket though, because it seemed like due to the time constraints only the people who got the tickets were able to get into the signing.
Anyways, with Anime Central literally a few days out, I’ll hopefully not take three weeks to post a wrap up on that one like I did this. Whoops. (Haha I’m so full of it.)
